Your Move has become the UK’s largest estate agency after completing its takeover of Halifax Estate Agents from Lloyds Banking Group.
The acquisition of 101 Halifax branches means the chain now operates more than 300 estate agent branches across the UK, staffed by 1,550 employees.
The number one spot comes in addition to a number of accolades picked up at the 2009 Estate Agent of the Year Awards in association with the Sunday Times.
Your Move scooped awards for Best UK Large Agent, Best UK Large lettings Agent and for the Best Use of Technology and the Web.
Furthermore, the company’s online business - your-move.co.uk – is now the most visited estate agency website in Britain.
Managing director David Newnes said: "This deal has rocketed us into the number 1 spot. Customers will notice the impact of the acquisition immediately."
He also highlighted that the agency experienced an all-time low in the number of complaints received after retraining hundreds of staff.
The Your Move network is currently undergoing a £1.5 million brand overhaul which will see all 336 branches fitted with new signage and fascias.
