According to estate agent news today, estate agents are expecting further falls in house prices this year, despite a recent upsurge in housing market activity.
Stratton Creber estate agent Sue Vincent reportedly commented: "We're physically recruiting as we're so busy. We're seeing investors come back in, parents buying for their children going to university, and first-time buyers . The only thing we're not seeing are the people who generally want to make a move for the sake of it. People are also buying due to the relocation of jobs. It's quite a variety of people coming back."
However, she also made it clear house prices will continue to fall, by as much as 10 per cent. Optimistic estate agency claims were backed up by a slight increase in mortgage approvals during January.
