According to the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the property market is in a healthier position than it was 12 months ago. July is typically a quiet month in the mortgage market, but when compared to annual figures, the housing market is robust.
Estate agencies reports increases in number of homes sold per estate agent, as well as the number of house hunters registered per estate agent . Following a decline during June, the figures were welcomed by the industry.
The NAEA figures also highlighted the growing problem of housing stock. According to reports, the lack of stock could hamper a property market recovery. The NAEA saw the average number of properties per estate agents slump, prompting further fears about this issue.
