According to recent reports, estate agents top the list of professionals who suffer from sleep deprivation.
A study by The Travelodge of over 4,000 UK workers found that estate agents on average get just five hours and 50 minutes sleep. The sleep pattern is well under the recommended daily sleep quota.
The insomnia reported amongst estate agents could be as a result of the credit crunch, falling house prices and an increase in pressure. Money worries could be causing many sleepless nights across all kinds of sectors, Travelodge said.
Other workers too stressed to sleep include lorry and taxi drivers, bankers, builders and accountants . Director of sleep at Travelodge, Leigh McCarron, reportedly said: "It is no surprise that the professions in the industries worst hit by the credit crunch come top of the charts. We all know that money worries and job security are key drivers of stress which in turn, leads to significant sleep loss ."
