Australia is the British top choice for overseas property investment .
Bank of Scotland International figures higlight that 42% of UK residents consider an overseas home or actually moving abroad.
10% selected Australia as their top choice, with 9% choosing New Zealand .
7% voted for the USA and Canada,w ith France (6%) being the top European location, followed closely by Spain (5%).
Potential overseas investors also need to be careful.
It is essential to select right products and services, as well as having a firm foundation for one's finances .
In terms of moving abroad, Brit ex-pats need to adjust to many aspects of life, with personal finance being one of them.
The largest proportion of those looking to move abroad or buy an investment property are based in the south-east, followed by the north-west and London .
Of those who already have an overseas property, more than a quarter are based in the south-east, with London, Yorkshire and the Humber, and the west Midlands the next most popular places.
