And research from Halifax shows more Britons have been engaging in DIY over the last year.

Nearly 3 out of 5 homeowners have improved a feature of their property in the last 12 months, 12% more than a year ago.
Most popular improvements have been designed to add value to homes as well to increase their saleability. Redecoration is the top alteration with two thirds of home improvers splashing a new coat of paint or wallpaper on.
People are also beginning to regard their gardens as extensions of their home, investing more money and time improving outdoors and indoors.
People also carry out alterations as they wish to reduce fuel bills as well as increase energy efficiency .
Cost stops 62% of Brits carrying out home improvements.
Out of those who carried out home improvements in the last six months, 50% spent less than £2,500, a third spent £2,500 to £10,000, with 1 in 9 spending more than £10,000.
