Property Prices soar in the South West of England

Wed, 03 Jan 2007
Over 350,000 individuals have migrated to the South West of England over the past 5-10 years, according to the Halifax.

This influx of migrants has caused a six percent increase in the South West's already booming poplation. The South West is fast becoming a wanted property spot, with many London workers enjoying both being by the coast and also only being an hour away from the capital.

Over two million individuals have chosen to leave London in a bid to reach other cities over the past three years.

The population increase has helped house prices increase dramatically in areas such as Brighton and Hove over the past few years.

The North West of England saw the steepest population drop according to the Halifax. In the past ten years, 25,000 individuals have chosen to leave the region.

With property prices pushing the £200,000 mark coupled with the North West having the slowest rise in property prices, many experts have been quick to note that this could soon be a place where people can find property bargains.
