Loft conversions can add £34,000 to your house price .

So says the Nationwide . Adding an extra bedroom adds 6% to property values, whilst another bathroom adds 5%.

If the extra bedroom and the bathroom are placed in an unused attic, the extra footage cab add 21%, to the value of your house, whilst costing half that.

You don't need to wait for your house to rise in price.

The recent Nationwide research highlights that location is still the greatest influence on house prices .

You can pay 90% more for properties in rich areas vis-a-vis those the more deprived areas. A house in a good neighbourhood can fetch a price a third higher than a similar house in an ‘average’ area.
