Scottish House Prices Rise 5 Years Running

Scottish house prices have gone up again, after five years of increases.

The most recent Lloyds TSB Scotland house price monitor highlights that in the three months before May house prices in Scotland went up by 4%.

The average Scottish house price is presently £133,968. Edinburgh by far has the most expensive properties with an average of £182,452.

Growth has slowed somewhat, with there being hefty increases in certain areas.

Dundee 's house prices are 30% higher than 12 months ago, with Aberdeen's prices up 18%. South-east Scotland (apart from Edinburgh) went up 18%, with north Scotland (apart from Aberdeen ) going up 16%.

Affordability of housing in Scotland has improved in the last three months, with consumer confidence also increasing.

Scottish economic growth equalled that of the UK at the end of 2005.
