Britons who wish to climb the property ladder face more than £3,000 in hidden costs, so new figures highlight.
We are so obsessed about future house prices that mortgage brokers are urging people who wish to buy a home to contemplate the hidden extras which come on top of the house price.
There are solicitors fees, surveys, moving costs and taxes to consider which add up to thousands of pounds extra.
There is of course stamp duty which is about £1,900 on average UK home worth £125,000.
This tax increases sharply on properties more than £125,000, £250,000, and £500,000.
Mortgages can also have 'hidden extras', rendering home loans more expensive .
So essentially shop around and make sure you get good deals on your mortgage, solicitors fees and removals. Stamp duty is of course a fixed percentage of the price of the house so that is something that one cannot do anything about.
