80% of home buyer expect house price rises in 2006, according to new research .
Four out of five homebuyers consider house prices will increase in 2006, in constrast to less than 30% in 2005, so say figures from The Homebuyer Show.
Moreover, 15% think house prices will decrease, whereas, last year three times as many expected property values to decrease.
The UK housing market struggled in 2005 with activity and prices down. With the realisation that the a house price crash is highly unlikely, the market is showing signs of positive growth, with buyers and sellers returning to the marketplace .
70% of respondents are planning to buy a property in the next 12 months, with 50% considering buy to let .
Homeowners are still wary about rising house prices. They in fact consider it their third greatest concern, second is a lack of affordable housing and a change in interest rates .
