Eastern Europe Not the Best Investment for Property Investors

Fri, 11 Aug 2006
Britons who want to buy a property in eastern Europe have been given a warning.

Presently, a third of property investors consider eastern Europe as the place to invest for maximum returns over the next ten years, yet buying overseas property is not as straighforward as it seems.

Buyers can consider higher risk, high return properties alongside low risk investments .

In countries like Croatia and Bulgaria inexperienced investors have even put their life savings on the line hoping to make a fortune.

It is highly advisable for those considering investment in a foreign country to ask themselves some key questions first.

Will the re-sale value exceed the purchase value? Will the property bew wanted for rent? Will this asset be safe?

In the case of the Croatian and Bulgarian markets, the answer herein is likely to be negative.

It is advisable to consider the political stability of the country, its legal system, as well as its transport and banking infrastructures, prior to investment.
