A Smart Garden Adds Great Value to Property

Fri, 21 Apr 2006
Just spend a few hundreds of pounds on your garden and add thousands of pounds to your property value.

Prior to moving house, most of us spend about £500 on garden improvmnents, so claims new research by Saga Insurance .

And when we come to sell the house, we find that small outlay has added £7,500 property value, apart from any impact of general house price rises.

The Saga survey, sponsored by the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show, also reveals that 82 per cent of Brits say the garden is an extremely important feature when house hunting.

25% of respondents of us start by replanting the lawn and add shrubs and plants straight after we move in.

A brand new patio area is also added by with 28% of us.

We not only improve our home's kerb appeal prior to selling our homes, we also like to ensure that we enhance our living space. Both ways the impact is reflected in the property prices .
