You may stroll down to your local estate agents or browse for an estate agent using online property websites. You may have made that decision to move house at last. Yet to your dismay - you cannot buy the property of your choice.
Estate agents homes for sale however not enough home buyers. How is this the case you may well ask. There is just not enough good quality homes for sale.
London estate agents report a 20 per cent drop in homes available for sale of sufficiently good quality. Cluttons Battersea office in fact has half the stock it had in 2004.
All this is not so good news for estate agents across the country, especially London and the Midlands. Why - because they need to get potential buyers viewing during September and October in order to have them in by Christmas.
John Wiglesworth, Hometrack's housing economist confirmed that "House prices are continuing their bumpy path towards more affordable levels. This has helped buyers to come back in to the market."
So is it a buyer's or a seller's market. A bit of both it would seem!
